We are a social group of friendly
people who organise a variety of events aimed at encouraging people
to start a new and hopefully happier life.
The Club’s aims are to be non profit
making and to assist members to get out and meet new friends
through a variety of reasonably priced or sometimes free events
held each month. The programme may also contain details of events
which, although not arranged by the club, may be of interest.
The Committee members give their time
to help and encourage new and old members on a voluntary basis.
We are not a Dating Agency or a
Marriage Bureau but by attending the numerous events each month you
will get to know other members and hopefully meet new friends.
We do not place age limits on membership; our current members are
between 30 and 82 with members predominantly 45-70.
We provide a wide range of social activities to cater for
the different interests of all our members - everything from bingo
and quizzes to discos, badminton (with the Ipswich D&S
club), walks, meal nights and social evenings. We aim to have
something on every Wednesday and Friday with badminton on Monday
and Thursday. Trips are organised for some
weekends and we also arrange an annual group holiday.
Our members are also able to attend discos,
dances and some other functions organised by
Ipswich, Colchester and Clacton clubs.
We welcome members from other D&S clubs at our advertised
functions on production of a current membership
card.
