The Well Chapel
'The House of Flame'
at
Paradise Now, Mow Hill Witnesham, Ipswich,
Suffolk.
IP6 9EH U.K
"Where the Faculties of The Soul become The
Attributes of God."
From Christian Mysticism by Dean W.R.Inge
Is situated five miles north
of Ipswich on the B1077 at the very top of Mow Hill on the
left, just up from The Barley Mow Public House. Alternatively, if
you are travelling into Witnesham from the northerly direction then
come straight through the village and finding America Hill,
again we are at the top on the right.
Witnesham is a
long... pleasant village deriving its name from the
anglo-saxon 'Witta's Settlement' or farm.
The delightful Anglican Church of St. Mary's down Church Lane
dates from around the early 1200's and we also have a thriving
Baptist Church on the main Upper Road which owes a debt of
gratitude for its continued existence to the farmer, the late
John Cross.
It has a fine Primary School - next to the Swilland Moon and
Mushroom Pub - well worth a visit! as is, if golf is your passion,
the excellent Fynn Valley Golf Club and Restaurant which draws
people from all over the country.
It is home to Witnesham Nursing Home, the Woodyard for the highly
respected Furniture making firm in Ipswich Titchmarsh and
Goodwin and the H.Q of Tastes of Anglia Ltd.
William Kirby 'The Father of Entomology' was born at Witnesham Hall
in 1759 and the artists Leonard Squirell R.W.S, R.E and the world
famous cartoonist Carl Giles both lived in the village.

"If you have experienced an inner realization of your real Self as
the Christ within you, and your phenomenal self as only the
instrument used by this greater Self, Christ, you will become very
humble. You will no longer have any attachment to, still less claim
any reward for, your deeds, however good: for you will know that
they do not belong to you at all."
From The Journey Inwards by Francis Happold
"How silent is TAO, how mysteriously hidden, yet how sought
for!
Tao doeth all things, yet appeareth to do nothing, no sound is
heard."

"Go sweep out the chamber of your heart.
Make it ready to be the dwelling place of The Beloved.
When you depart out, He will enter In.
In you, void of yourself, will He display
His Beauties."

THE GARDEN OF
ONE LIGHT
HAVE US BORN ANEW AND LET US POSSESS OUR BEING THROUGH THE
PROVIDENCE OF LIGHT.
TEACH US TO RESPECT THE ESSENCE OF ALL RELIGIONS, AND LEAD US TO
LEARN THE ONE ULTIMATE TRUTH.
HAVE US PERFORM ALL OUR DUTIES OUT OF HUMILITY - THE WELL OF
INFINITE WISDOM AND COMPASSION AND DO ALL OUR WORK OUT OF
GRATITUDE.
ENABLE US TO PERFECT THE WAY OF OUR LIVING BY COMPLETELY SUBMITTING
TO THE LAWS OF NATURE.
GRANT THAT WE MAY RETURN TO THE LAND OF 'PERFUMED NOOK OF HEAVENLY
FLOWERS' - NIRVANA - AND SO TREAD IN THE PARADISE OF
LIGHT. A Shinto Prayer
"Our deepest self - knowledge unfolds as we are
embraced by Beauty."
