Deben Watch
It is hard to imagine any property more vulnerable to theft and
vandalism than a boat left on a mooring or mudberth, possibly
unvisited for prolonged periods of time. If you own a boat of
whatever description, it is a likely target for the criminal.
Boat crime in some areas is on the increase therefore we need to
be vigilant and proactive to make sure we minimise our own risk and
exposure to this growing threat. The ultimate aim of ‘Deben Watch’
is to help reduce the opportunities for crime by raising the
awareness of security around moorings, marinas, boatyards and other
places where boats and marine equipment are kept.

Waldringfield Good Neighbours
At their annual meeting on 7th June members of the
Good Neighbour Scheme voted to wind the scheme up - due to the
very small demand. They decided to donate their remaining
funds to Age Concern Suffolk. This has now been done and all key
papers will be deposited with the PC for safe keeping.
WALGA
Waldringfield Allotment and Leisure Gardeners
Associationwelcomes new members (£5 p.a. which includes
membership of the National Society and Allotment and Leisure
Gardeners and a substantial discount on Kings Seeds): contact
the secretary Vicky Marsh on 736324.
If you want an allotment write to the parish clerk as in order to
act, the Parish Council needs to know the extent of the demand. But
WALGA is also for all who grow for pleasure or production to share
their enthusiasm and expertise, even if they do not want an
allotment. We
hold a village Open Gardens and a village Flower Fruit and Veg show
annually, and well as having a
programme of talks and
work-shops.
