New for 2010. We are holding our first Wii Tournament. As an
introduction to what we hope will be a regular event, we will be
playing Ten Pin Bowling. Entry to the tournament is £2 per person.
1st and 2nd prizes will be awarded. There will be a bar, and hotdog
refreshments on sale. This is one for all mums, dads and children
so we look forward to seeing you there!!
Please see the Programme of Events and put dates in your
diaries.
GARAGE SALES — this is a very successful annual event which gives
you all a chance to clear out and sell unwanted possessions. Many
people come from outside the village and as last year, we will be
offering refreshments in the hall all day.
MAY BALL - Following the success of our May Ball in 2008, we are
holding a Masked Ball on 22nd May. We will be having an
outside caterer, live music, bar and raffle. Ticket prices are kept
as low as possible but for this special event, are likely to be
around £18 - 20 per head. To make the event financially viable, we
need to sell 50 tickets so hope as many of you as possible will be
able to attend.
PUB NIGHT BBQ - we are looking for a venue for this
annual event. ls anyone willing to host this for
us?
Lunch
Club
I would just
like to say a special thank you to Jean Willoughby who kindly took
over the helm while I was away and also
to Joan McCarthy who stepped in to do the
cooking as Lynne was taken ill. I understand
that you all enjoyed a very good meal
not only cooked by Joan but Jenny
who made the desserts and their helpers Marcella
and Linda. The great task of
washing up was taken on by Margaret Arthey & Ann Munns
so thank you all very much.
Our next meal will be
Wednesday 10th March 12 for 12.30pm. As usual bookings are
essential.
I Look forward to seeing you
all. Ann West.
PS If anyone has a prize or
two to donate towards our raffle we would be very
pleased as it all helps towards our funds and
keeps the cost of our meals at £2.50 - so
every little helps as they say.
