Wickham Skeith Time
capsule
As part qf the Centenary celebrations this year we
are planning to bury a Time capsule in the grounds qf the Village
Hall designed to provde a snap shot of life in Wickham
Skeith in 2009. It is hoped that this will provide a valuable
resource for future residents as they celibrate the bicentenary qf
the hall in 2109.
The Time Capsule itself is not so big, and therefore we are rather
restricted as to the amount qf items we can include. We have
decided therefore to focus on the written word and to devote most
of the space in the capsule to a book of written
contributions from as many people in the village as possible.
This is where we need your help. We would like to invite you
to contribute to this project by asking
you to write a short piece on a
subject of your choice. 1t could be about anything, your
hobby, your family life, the home in which you live, a village
group you may he involved with, the school you attend absolutely
anything.
We are particularly encouraging contributions from the children in
the village. Maybe their grandchildren will be present when the
capsule is opened in 100 years from now.
This project will run for the next few months.
We are asking for submissions to be sent to Dave Erett, either
by email or
you
can leave in the post box at Jack's Barn on the Green.
Your submission will then he printed on special paper designed
specifically for time capsules, so please no drawings or
photos.
Many thanks and we'll keep you updated with the progress of this
project.
