Wickham Woods is an exciting new community project to create and maintain a native woodland for the village of Wickham Market. The woodland will be owned and run by the community, providing a sustainable green wildspace that we can all enjoy and learn from.

We are working in association with the charity Green Light Trust, who have helped 41 other local community groups across East Anglia to get started on a Community-owned Wildspace project.

A group of volunteers from Wickham Market are now actively searching for a piece of land and funding to create a special green space for all ages to use, for many generations to come.

We are pleased to have the support of the Parish Council, the Parish Environment Group and Suffolk County Council (through local Councillor Clare Aitchison).  Members of the Wickham Woods group recently joined the Parish Environment Group for the morning to learn some hedge-planting skills - everyone was very proud of their contribution to the tennis courts' new hedge!
