HAVE YOUR PERSONAL ITEMS POSTCODE MARKED -
FREE
The Mobile Police Station next
visits Aldringham Green, Mill Hill, on Thursday, 25th March,
between 10am and 11.30am when you can discuss any concerns you have
with the police. Did you know that they receive many
items which cannot be returned to their owners because they don't
know where they belong. The Mobile Police Station provides a
free Postcode Marking Service.
Bicycles, mobile phones, IPods, Laptops and any other small
personal items can be marked with your postcode, so that if they
are lost or stolen and recovered they can be returned to
you. Bring them along on 25th March.

ANNUAL THORPENESS SPRING BEACH
CLEAN
Recent gales
have brought in a huge amount of rubbish to the beach, so
the
Spring Beach Clean on Good Friday, 2nd April is much
needed. Meet at the Dolphin Inn at 10.30am for refreshments
and to collect pickers, etc. returning for more refreshments at
noon. Please let Bill Crow know if you'll be there, on 01728
454641.
ON THE SUBJECT OF
RUBBISH.....
DON'T BE A
TOSSER! Radio Suffolk has just launched it's
third campaign urging us not to throw rubbish around our beautiful
county. I recently collected yet another bin bag
full of roadside rubbish from the Aldringham Aldeburgh Road and
seeing so much more lying around in the parish I realise that
it would make a huge difference if everyone collected the
litter from outside and near their
homes. Wouldn't you like to help make Suffolk the
Greenest County?
COUNTRY DANCING
Would you like to learn some English Country Dancing in
Thorpeness? Why not join the group at the Ogilvie Hall on the
second and last Wednesday of each month. The next meetings
are on 10th and 24th March, 11am to noon. Do come and join
us. We have live music, all the moves are called out and NO
experience or partner are necessary.
ST
GEORGE'S DAY 'BREW &
BAKE'
The event will
take place at the Dolphin Inn, Thorpeness from 10am-12noon, on
Friday, 23rd April. Coffee and Cakes will be available and
all proceeds from the raffle will go to THE CHILDREN'S
SOCIETY. Please help us surpass the wonderful event
which was held in Friston last year. Cakes and items for the
rafle can be taken to the Dolphin from 9am on
23rd.
THE OGILVIE HALL, THORPENESS, NEEDS
YOUR
SUPPORT
The Ogilvie Hall provides wonderful grand
space for many local activities - theatre, music, religious
services, sports, dances & dinners. It is
independent of local council control and so not a burden on rate
payers and visitors who are free to use its facilities as they
wish, but as the
End of Decade Report
shows it needs local support.
Regular and extraordinary events take place at the Hall - see
the
Community Groups
and
Events pages for details, or
contact Sharon at the Club on 01728 452014 for information or to
book the Hall for your function.
TASTE WINES AT THE PARROT
& PUNCHBOWL

Marc of Marc 1, Aldeburgh, on 24th May, courtesy of Sheila
Fleming. Tickets will be available from Christine Laschet
from 1st May. £5 per person, including
nibbles.
BEWARE OF BOGUS
CALLERS
Police are again warning
people to be cautious when dealing with casual
doorstep callers, after an elderly lady in Aldeburgh was duped into
giving a man a cheque when he said he'd repaired her roof.
Contact the police if you know anything about this incident or have
any doubts about callers at your door.
ARE YOU EXPECTING A TAX
REBATE?
Whether or not
you are, don't respond to a scam email you may receive, ostensibly
from HM Revenue & Customs, advising that you're eligible for a
tax rebate. Suffolk Police have received a
warning report
about this scam - don't be duped!

Sizewell has been named by the

SIZEWELL PARISHES LIAISON

including representation from all the Parish Councils in the area
around Sizewell were brought together to discuss their common
interest in the development of a further Power Station at
Sizewell. It was agreed to form a liaison group with the
following aims and objectives.
AIMS: to act as a coordinating Group - to
encourage investment by EDF and government in the local
infrastructure.
OBJECTIVES: Infrastructure concerns to
include - Transport (Road, Rail and Sea); Education and Training;
