Recent Productions
Bures Stage Society is a small village group of amateur actors who
perform at least three productions every year in the Bures
Community Hall Village Hall. During the last week in January
or first week of February we present the Pantomime involving as
many children as we can from Bures and the surrounding
villages. In the spring we usually have a One Act Play and
supper although some years this has taken the form of a murder
mystery evening. In the autumn we present a full play.
The society
is linked with the Essex Guild of Actors and over the years we have
been nominated many times for awards for different
productions. Some years we have won one or two awards but to
tell you the truth we are all in the society simply because we like
it.
The society
has a number of members of all ages; currently the youngest is
eight and the eldest is …. let us say nicely mature. We are
always looking for new members in all the areas needed to put on a
production. We need actors, directors, electricians,
stagehands, and musicians, people to look after the costume,
painters and general front of house personnel. If you are at
all interested then please speak to our Chairman Philippe or
our Secretary Rosemary.

Our next production will be
Two One-Act Plays
20th, 21st and 22nd May
The last time we did this we selected two acts
which
were very different from each other. Both funny and both
received very well
by our audience. Come along to watch or join us at the
audition.
