The
onesuffolk business
pages bring together information from Suffolk County
Council and the District and Borough councils of Suffolk. You can
find
business support pages from our partners
together with a wide range of links to local and national
business support organisations. We also have
information on transporting large or wide
loads across the county, contact details for
building regulation and
planning departments, information on
trading standards and pages on
noise and
smell nuisance. We also have a page on the
licensing legislation for pubs and places
of entertainment. There are also pages relating to the
new requirements for food businesses that come into force on 1st
Jan 2006.
Credit Unions go from strength to strength
Rainbow Saver Anglia Credit Union Ltd (RSACUL) has
decided to re-locate its Admin HQ from Peterborough to Lowestoft
following a review of operations and commitments. This will enable
RSACUL to further develop credit union services in the new
regeneration area of Lowestoft/Great Yarmouth. RSACUL achieved the
milestone of over £100,000 in savings deposited by
members, and record month on month lending, and is coming up to the
1,000 member mark.
RSCAUL's onesuffolk website can be
found here.
Ipswich and Suffolk Credit Union Ltd (ISCU ) continues to
innovate and grow. ISCU is the first credit union in England
to succeed in offering credit union membership to people in
custody, thanks to a new partnership with Highpoint Prison and
Foundation Training Company Ltd. Prison earnings can be deposited
into ISCU and the transition on release eased with the help of
receiving benefits or wages at a time when it can be very difficult
to open a bank account. ISCU’s rent deposit loan scheme continues
to grow, with over £40,000 now out on loan. Ipswich Borough Council
continues to refer ‘at risk’ clients for this help, and other
District and Borough Councils are in discussion with ISCU to offer
this service too. ISCU's
onesuffolk website can be found here.
Suffolkbiz small business websites
onesuffolk was recently involved in a pilot project to provide
cheap and easy to use websites for SMEs in partnership
with
SuffolkBiz and the
Suffolk
Tutors Group. Although onesuffolk's part in this project
has ended,
SuffolkBiz are planning to increase the
number of businesses taking part.
