We are pleased to announce that Feast East 2009 had another
successful year. With around 2500 visitors through the
doors Feast East was buzzing from opening till closing
times. Quite a few of our 78 exhibitors have sold
out and even more have had bumper sales. In the times of
ecnomic doom and gloom it is a joy to see that people of East
of England support local economy in general and local food in
particular.
Cookery Theatre was as popular as ever and over two days all
cookery demos were full of visitors eager to see chefs from their
favourite restraurants cook their exciting dishes.
We would like to extend our thanks to Franck Pontais from Food
Creation, Peter Friskey from the Red LIon in Hinxton, Ben from the
Broad House Hotel (very young and very good chef), Chris Lee from
the Bildeston Crown and Paul Wharrier from the Boathouse Brasserie
and Bar.
Our new area for children has attracted a lot of attention and will
definitely be back next year. This area managed to
keep our little visitors occupied whilst their
parents shopped to their hearts content. Print sessions
in the Curwen Print Studio were extremely
well attended.
As usual we received hundereds of
entries to our Hamper Competiton and the lucky winner was Mrs J
Rodman from Newmarket in Suffolk who was presented with
the hamper basket full of delicious goodies from the East
of England producers. Congratulations!
