Boxin'
Boxin is dynamic and extreme dance theatre using Kwesi Johnson’s
unique blend of physical theatre, contemporary dance, parkour and
Hip Hop.
Boxin takes the audience by surprise, exploring the mental and
physical barriers we encounter because of prejudice and
misinformation. It focuses on the positive aspects of human
interaction, embraces our similarities, and highlights how, in
reality, they far outweigh our differences.
The ever-changing urban landscape of Steve Denton’s inspired
design is integral to the choreography, forming different levels,
corners, slopes and hidden openings.
Kompany Malakhi, led by Artistic Director Kwesi Johnson, is one
of the most innovative dance theatre companies in the UK today.

The line-up:
MARTIN BIGPIG MOR
Born into a circus family, the famous Mucmors, Martin had an early
career as a juggler, unicyclist, knife thrower, fire-eater,
magician, and photographic model.
As the result of an accident in the big top, in which he
sustained a shattered ankle, he was forced to retire from
performing his famous, (and unique) freestanding ladder, tall
unicycle, basketball juggling, pyrotechnic act.
Temporally robbed of his mobility, his senses reorganized
themselves, producing a heightened comedic ability, lightning fast
improvisational skills and an improved sense of smell. And so he
became a stand-up comedian.
The beast within the boy unleashed at last, Martin became the
dynamic, multi-skilled performer Martin Bigpig Mor, combining
startlingly original material with bold, energetic improvisation.
His love of working the audience and an inability to remember his
script, mean that every show is a unique interactive live event,
and no two shows are ever the same.
Martin has just completed a National Tour with Frankie Boyle -
playing in some of the UK's largest venues.
VALENTINE F
Funny man Zeron Gibson, the creator of the popular and
unforgettable streetwise Valentine F, who ‘Blings the Yank into the
UK’.
Headlining at all the major comedy clubs in the UK and around
the world Zeron performs in the guise of his outrageously funny and
outspoken character Valentine F.
Zeron has recently created, written and appears in his brand new
six part sitcom “Trexx N’ Flipside for the BBC.
STEVE ROYAL
Steve Royal is an actor, writer, comedian and juggler.
He has just completed another enjoyable few months as Special
Guest on Dave Spikey’s Living The Dream Tour, and even sold out his
first Steve Royle Comedy Extravaganza show at the Oldham Coliseum
Theatre in March. Furthermore, he is now a regular Television
warm-up for programmes such as A Question Of Sport and Stars In
Their Eyes.
Last year saw Steve’s stand-up work go ballistic. He is a
regular headline act at The Comedy Store and other alternative
venues, performing alongside Steve Coogan and Peter Kay at the
Apollo Theatre Manchester, and landed a role in channel 4’s Max
& Paddy’s Road To Nowhere. In addition, he appeared in The
Laughter Show at the North Pier Blackpool with more traditional
comics Mick Miller, Roy Walker, & Duncan Norvelle. He also
appeared on Granada Programmes Behind The Scene and That’s
Entertainment (with Cannon and Ball) and was voted Entertainer of
the Year at the inaugural Red Rose Awards.
During the last few years Steve has supported Peter Kay many
times and had a part in the very successful TV comedy, Phoenix
Nights.
Steve is also co-founder of the Slaughterhouse-Live (Laughter
with an S) character comedy nights which have taken the Edinburgh
Festival Fringe by storm with sell out shows and rave reviews for
two years running. They won the Best Comedy Show award at The
Brighton Fringe Festival 2005 and were runners-up in the best
touring show category at the Manchester Comedy Awards 2004.
