Instead of buying something new, trying registering
with
http://www.freecycle.org/group/UK/East/
and see if you can get it for free.
If you've not worn it or used it for over a year, it's time
to sell it. You can use
free advert sites (link to
Google) or one of the on-line auction
sites.

Think about buying value labels or own brands in the
supermarket rather than expensive branded items.
Think about homebaking. Make your own cakes instead of buying them.
(and always use every shelf of the oven when it's
on).

It might seem obvious but don't leave electrical equipment
on standby when not in use. And if you have one, switch off your
wireless router at the plug when you aren't using it.
