The LAA is an integral part of Suffolk’s approach to improving
outcomes for children and young people. By giving our younger
generations the appropriate tools and skills, we will not only
improve their life chances but also enhance the opportunities and
development of Suffolk as a whole.
Suffolk’s LAA will integrate the improvement cycle for children’s
services, which brings together a number of key stages for driving
performance in children’s services, including needs assessment,
prioritisation and planning, monitoring, and self-evaluation.
We will ensure that there is a good fit between the Suffolk LAA and
the statutory Children and Young People’s Plan, so they are
mutually reinforcing.
Fourteen priority targets have been set for Children
& Young People to be achieved by March 2008.
Progress towards the targets is being measured through 20
key indicators. A summary of
the
targets can
be viewed.

The Suffolk Children's Trust
Partnership Board has been involved and updated on LAA
developments, resulting in a limited number of amendments
to the current terms of reference for the Suffolk Children's
Trust Partnership Board to reflect the role of the LAA
Accountable Bodies Group. Subsequent changes will be
incorporated as the Children’s Trust for Suffolk
develops.
