In April 2008, local writer and broadcaster Rachel
Sloane, began writing reviews for the onesuffolk website,
along with members of the onesuffolk team. This has proved so
popular that we now need help from writers groups and individuals
so that the whole of the county’s vast talent is covered.
Who we want
We want to build a team of onesuffolk Writers across Suffolk who
enjoy going to the concerts and plays performed by the many
talented amateur dramatic societies, orchestras and choirs in the
county. We want them to write short reviews for the onesuffolk
website. Please note that all reviews and communications will be
done by email, so onesuffolk Writers will need internet access.
What you will be asked to do
Attend a concert or play and write a maximum of 300 words about the
event. Also arrange, where possible, with the organisers for 1-3
photos to be sent to the onesuffolk website to illustrate your
review.
What type of productions?
They will range from small-scale village-hall drama groups to
musicals and plays performed by amateur performers but in Suffolk’s
professional theatres. You can suggest productions you are
available to attend but you must get clearance from Rachel before
doing anything else. We don’t want six keen reviewers all
contacting the same theatre asking for free tickets for the same
play!
