Responding to Adult Safeguarding referrals / allegations made against residential care services in Suffolk

It is essential that any allegation of abuse made against a person(s) who works within the residential service, including those who work in a voluntary capacity are dealt with fairly, quickly, and consistently, in a way that provides effective protection for the vulnerable adults and at the same time supports the person(s) who is the subject of the allegation. This procedure explains how the process should be applied in all residential settings where employees and volunteers have contact with vulnerable adults and are in a position of trust.
