The Suffolk LSCB has been established as required by legislation
and statutory guidance and is required to act with independence and
authority in respect of the work of all organisations whose staff
come into contact with children and young people, their parents and
carers.
Peter Worobec
LSCB Independent Chair
The LSCB is made up of partners and stakeholders from a range of
agencies that commit to the work of the LSCB and bring a range of
knowledge, experience and expertise under the leadership of an
Independent Chair Person.
The aim of the LSCB is to ensure that partner
organisations, are aware of safeguarding arrangements. It is
also important that members of the local community have
increased understanding of the work that is being carried out to
help keep children safe in Suffolk.
Suffolk LSCB recognises that safeguarding and promoting the welfare
of children and young people involves:
|
 |
- Protecting from
maltreatment
- Preventing impairment of health and development
- Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent
with the provision of safe
and effective care
- Enabling children to have optimum life chances and enter
adulthood sucessfully |
Sub Groups
The LSCB has
a number of sub-groups which meet to focus on key areas of
