Welcome to Sproughton

Welcome to Sproughton, a village of about 550 houses situated three miles west of Ipswich in the county of Suffolk.

The heart of our village contains a mediaeval Church and Rectory, a 16th Century Tithe Barn, a 17th Century Hall and an 18th Century Water Mill on the River Gipping.  We have two Pubs, a Primary School and (until
2006) a Post Office. The Parish Council is applying for grants to Sprcomweb3establish a Community Shop in the Tithe Barn.

There are about 24 recreational and social clubs and groups in Sproughton.

We have recently completed our Parish Plan, which was the spur for this first attempt at a village web site. We are developing and improving this site by degrees!
