NEXT EVENT:
20 March
The Hosepipe
Band
The Hosepipe Band is an electro-acoustic barn
dance band playing traditional and newly composed material.
Rhythmic and melodic, the band's sound mixes British and European
influences. The band line-up includes Val Woollard on
recorders, flute, saxophone, bagpipes, bombarde (sorry!), hammered
dulcimer and wind-controller, Simon Haines playing melodeons
and hurdy-gurdy, Geoff Coombs on mandolin and mandola, and
Nick Sadler on bass guitar.
Our caller for the dancing is Elaine Barker, a very
experienced and popular local caller who also organises the
Colchester Folk Club.
