Suffolk and
Proud aims to encourage local people to feel pride in their
county and take an active role in ensuring the county remains
a place to be proud of.
The campaign, which will run for the rest of this year, focuses on
promoting and celebrating everything that’s great about the county
– its people, the environment, quality of life, achievements and
success stories.
Suffolk and Proud is a multi-agency campaign which
brings together organisations including Suffolk Constabulary,
Suffolk County Council and local district and borough
councils.
However, it is local people who will be central to the success of
the campaign.
Some of them have already highlighted why they are proud of their
county in television adverts, which are being broadcast on ITV
Anglia to mark the start of the campaign.
Others are being featured in a special magazine, produced by the
East Anglian Daily Times, because of their outstanding contribution
to Suffolk life.
More details about the campaign will be posted on the onesuffolk
website as it progresses during the year.
VOICING THEIR PRIDE
Seven Suffolk
residents have already taken a starring role in Suffolk and
Proud.
They have helped create the television adverts which will be
screened on ITV Anglia to mark the start of the campaign. The seven
people were selected to provide voiceovers for the adverts – saying
why they are proud of their county – after winning a competition
run in the East Anglian Daily Times.
