The Government identified the need for Local Strategic
Partnerships (LSP) as the best way of promoting the social,
economic and environmental well-being of communities.
Each district is required to have its own LSP which should work
to enhance the quality of life, contribute to sustainable
development, and help coordinate and shape the future action of
public, private, voluntary and community organisations.
‘Suffolk Coastal 2021’ is the Community Strategy for the Suffolk
Coastal district drawn up by the Suffolk Coastal LSP.
Representatives of business, voluntary, community and statutory
organisations that represent our community have prepared this
Strategy and consulted local people directly so that the outlined
work reflects what the local community wants.

Suffolk Coastal 2021 (PDF 295kb). At
the core of the document is our agreed vision of the future of
our district, where “building on the best of the present, it
should be a district where people want to live and to invest, to
care for others and the environment”.
In this important document, we have identified what we believe to
be the twelve key issues that need to be addressed in the district
in order to achieve our Vision. The document clearly identifies our
ambitions and aims in areas where we believe that we can uniquely
make a difference by working together.
The Suffolk Coastal LSP will take a lead role in delivering on
these ambitions. The Board will continue to oversee the work of the
Partnership and ensure that the local community is kept informed of
what is happening.
