Buying a Search
There are several types of searches you can buy and costs will
vary accordingly:

What is a Suffolk Search?
These are electronic official searches completed by Council
Staff who know where the information is and have expertise in
retrieving the information.
To use Suffolk Search you must register and agree to the terms
and conditions of Suffolk Searches. Registration happens overnight.
Payment must be in the form of a cheque and sent to the appropriate
Council for the next day. St Edmundbury Borough Council will also
accept payments on account.

Waveney District Council is not participating in Suffolk
Searches and as such your search request will automatically
redirect to their website.

What is a Postal Search?
Postal Searches are the traditional way of
requesting Searches and are still being offered by each authority.
Requests are to be submitted on form LLC1 and CON29 accompanied by
a site plan and a cheque for the appropriate fee. For fee details

What is a Personal Search?
A Personal Search involves visiting the Local Council
Offices to inspect the Local Land Charges Register and other
Statutory Public Registers.

What is a Suffolk County Council Highways Search?
Suffolk County Council is the Highway Authority and provides
information on which roads are maintainable by Suffolk County
Council, which roads are due to be adopted, land acquired for road
works, nearby major road schemes (within 200m), outstanding
notices, compulsory purchase, approved traffic management schemes
(abutting the property) and any optional questions about
public rights of way and Registered Commons and Village
Greens.
