Welcome to the Tunstall Parish Council
website |
A NEW WEBSITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION UNTIL THEN PLEASE DO VIEW
THE CURRENT ONE.
This rural Parish in the County of Suffolk covers some four and
a half square miles, approximately two thirds of which lie within
the Suffolk
Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (the
boundary of which is defined by the B1069 road as it cuts
diagonally across the Parish).
Within the Parish there are broadly three centres of occupation,
the first being the Village of Tunstall (which is located to the
west and sits astride the junction of the B1069 and B1078 roads),
Tunstall Common (to the south and immediately adjoining the
beautiful
forest of Tunstall), and finally Snape
Bridge (formerly Dunningworth) to the north-east.
Few people realize that it is Tunstall Parish which encompasses the
unique Victorian complex at
Snape
Maltings including its world renowned
Concert
Hall – these outstanding facilities are understood to represent
the most popular tourist attraction in the county.
If you would like to download a map of Tunstall Parish, which
identifies (and numbers) the public footpaths within the
Parish boundaries, then please click
here. It is a large file and you may find it takes a
little time to open. Our thanks to Cllr Violet Skeet
who oversaw the project to produce this map.
The District Council for the area is

Coastal District Council with
Suffolk County Council
responsible for county-wide
issues. | |
