The Government identified the need for Local Strategic
Partnerships (LSP) as the best way of promoting the social,
economic and environmental well-being of communities.
Each district is required to have its own LSP which should work
to enhance the quality of life, contribute to sustainable
development, and help coordinate and shape the future action of
public, private, voluntary and community organisations.
‘Waveney Sustainable Communities Strategy 2007-2010’ is the
Community Strategy for the Waveney district drawn up by
the Waveney LSP. Representatives of business, voluntary,
community and statutory organisations that represent our community
have prepared this Strategy and consulted local people directly so
that the outlined work reflects what the local community
wants.
The Waveney Sustainable Communities Strategy is
available to download. At the core of the document is our agreed
vision to have "Prosperous, attractive and vibrant
communities with good access to jobs, services and facilities
and where everybody can feel safe, be healthly and happy."
In this important document, we have identified what we believe to
be the key issues that need to be addressed in the district in
order to achieve our Vision. The document clearly identifies our
ambitions and aims in areas where we believe that we can uniquely
make a difference by working together.
The Waveney LSP will take a lead role in delivering on these
ambitions. The Board will continue to oversee the work of the
Partnership and ensure that the local community is kept informed of
what is
happening.
