SCC Procurement
Procurement is the vehicle through which Suffolk County Council spends the greatest portion of its controllable budget.
Through procurement the Council intends to:
· help Voluntary Sector organizations to bid successfully for Suffolk contracts
· improve service delivery and delivering great value for money
· reduce our carbon emissions, other pollutants and the amount of waste we produce
· provide services which support vulnerable people and are tailored to their needs
The provision of efficient services is a given, but procurement can be used, to a greater or lesser extent, to deliver sustainability, diversity, local sourcing and other policy objectives.

A ‘project’ involves developing a new service or initiative or to meet the start-up costs for a new service or event.
