SCC Youth Opportunity & Capital Funds

The Suffolk Youth Opportunity & Youth Capital funds will open again for 2010-2011 on 1 April 2010.

Application forms and updated guidance notes will be available from the Source website - http://www.thesource.me.uk/yocf/ - from this date. PLEASE NOTE that there have been some changes to the criteria of what can and can’t be funded so you are advised to throw away any old copies of the guidance notes you may have.

Panel meetings for Round 1 are provisionally planned for the May half term. The maximum amounts that can be claimed under Opportunity and Capital have not been set. This information will also be available from 1 April.

The current plan is to have only two rounds in 2010-2011. The dates for the second round have not as yet been set but the panels have been provisionally planned for the summer holidays.

We are also looking for young people to become panel members with training days over the Easter holidays. If you are aware of any young people who would be interested in taking on the role of grant makers, please email Andy Fell (Andy.Fell@suffolk.gov.uk) or Donna Darton (Donna.Darton@suffolk.gov.uk) for further information.

If you have any further queries about the Youth Opportunity & Capital Funds, please contact:

SCC Procurement

Procurement is the vehicle through which Suffolk County Council spends the greatest portion of its controllable budget.

Through procurement the Council intends to:

· help Voluntary Sector organizations to bid successfully for Suffolk contracts

· improve service delivery and delivering great value for money

· reduce our carbon emissions, other pollutants and the amount of waste we produce

· provide services which support vulnerable people and are tailored to their needs

The provision of efficient services is a given, but procurement can be used, to a greater or lesser extent, to deliver sustainability, diversity, local sourcing and other policy objectives.

If you would like to know more about the Suffolk County Council Procurement Strategy and the regulations governing procurement go to:

SCC Single Gateway Funding

There are currently two bidding rounds each year.

http://www.suffolk.gov.uk/BusinessAndConsumer/RegenerationAndCommunityDevelopment
/Funding/SuffolkSingleGateway/ApplyingForFunding.htm

This is funding towards day-to-day running costs of your organisation or group that allows you to deliver your core purpose i.e. the reason your organisation or group was set up.
A ‘project’ involves developing a new service or initiative or to meet the start-up costs for a new service or event.
