Beginners Guide to Safeguarding
Date Thursday 26 June 2008 in Bury St Edmunds

Cost: Free to voluntary sector participants

The Suffolk Safeguarding Children Board has just celebrated its first birthday! However, do we really understand how different the remit of this Board is from the work of the Area Child Protection Committee? So if you are struggling to understand what a LSCB is or what the three area SCBs will cover or, if you need to know what difference the Common Assessment Framework and ContactPoint will make to your organisation, then spare a couple of hours for a Beginners Guide to Safeguarding.

Cliff James, Head of Safeguarding in Suffolk has kindly agreed to provide an insight to the work of the Suffolk Safeguarding Board, review the progress made in its first year and consider where it is going in the future. Cliff will be pleased to answer your questions about what difference the new system will make to you.

In addition John Lowe, Head of Vulnerable Children for Suffolk County Council will also provide an input about the Common Assessment Framework and the progress of the new national data-base ContactPoint.

For more information call Alison Archbold at Young Suffolk on 01473 744187 or email youngsuffolk@suffolkonline.net
