Suffolk County Council is working in partnership with Young Suffolk and SAVO to offer free training to support local organisations to tender for service contracts with Suffolk County Council. 

The dates for 2010 are:

17th February 2010 9.30am – 4.30pm Ipswich

7th April 2010 9.30am – 4.30pm Ipswich

15th July 2010 9.30am – 4.30pm Ipswich

7th Oct 2010 9.30am – 4.30pm Ipswich

Places are limited to one person per organisation.

SAVO and Young Suffolk are pleased to be able to offer members FREE

INTRODUCTION TO THE INDEPENDENT SAFEGUARDING AUTHORITY

 

These free seminars aim to explain the new employment and volunteering regulations which will start fully operating from July 2010 for organisations which work with children and young people and vulnerable adults.

 

Training sessions are available on the following:-

Tuesday 29^th June at 2.00pm at Anselm Community Centre, Bury St Edmunds

Friday 2^nd July at 9.15am at Castle Hill Community Centre, Ipswich

Thursday 8^th July at 9.15am at Astral Centre, Lowestoft

 

This new scheme is due to be operational from 26 July 2010

Introduction to Youth Work Courses

Introduction to Youth Work Course - Accredited OCN Level 2 Course

Starting Wednesday 12 May 2010

at Saxmundham Resource Centre

for 7 weeks

Starting Tues 21 September 2010

 for 7 weeks

This evening course is aimed at anyone new, or relatively new, to youth work including part-time staff and volunteers.

Participants need to have some experience of working with groups of children/young people aged 8 and over.

This interactive, practical course will be delivered by an experienced team and aims to equip you with confidence and skills to enhance your existing knowledge.

It costs only £35 although the normal cost is £400 per person as the course is heavily subsidised. There is a bursary available.
